Father’s reunion turns tragic
SHAH ALAM: A father who wanted to meet his daughter a year after her marriage died after he was punched in the chest by his son-in-law.
A. Muhammad Nasir, 54, had driven from Penang to see his daughter in Subang Jaya whom he had not met for at least a year, said Selangor acting CID chief Assistant Commissioner Omar Mammah.
But it turned out to be a tragic reunion on Monday as the 29-year-old son-in-law, who ran a rojak stall, had apparently refused to let them meet, he said.
“A struggle ensued and the suspect landed a blow on Nasir’s chest which caused him to collapse.”
He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
